My fascination with personal safety was forged in me by my father long ago, in the island nation of Cuba, where I was born. We left our homeland in 1970 and traveled to the USA via a short stay in Madrid.

I remember my first shooting experience in the Boys Scouts of America trip to the Everglades when I was 12.

I was nineteen years old  when I enlisted in the United States Air Force. While attending Technical School in Mississippi, I stumbled on a robbery in the barracks I was patrolling and apprehended an armed thieve after being pistol whipped myself. I was awarded the Airman's Medal for bravery " the highest medal awarded during peace time" . I also received numerous awards for marksmanship thru my years of service.

That experience changed my life! I realized that criminals will always have weapons where as law abiding citizens don't.

I later joined the NRA, became a lifetime member.

My travels with the Air Force took me to very interesting places one of then being assigned to Detachment 7, Tactical Air Control, 3rd Calvary at Fort Bliss Texas. There I took up hunting. I joined and became a member/committee member of the Fort Bliss Rod & Gun Club. My stay in Texas was spent hunting, shooting and club activities. My passion for sport shooting flourished, my hunting abilities exceed my expectations when I bagged several mule dear trophies.  I also organized dozens of personal safety classes for the club. I attended several seminars and participated in Trap/combat matches.

Since returning to my home state of Florida, I became a Pistol instructor.  thru handgun safety and concealed weapons classes, I believe that we stop the epidemic of accidents.
